Nothing you can do about it now other than to replace the wireless card with a better one. So, either HP made a major error when putting your notebook together, or someone removed the nice AC card and put in a plain old wireless card just so the notebook had wireless.Īlso, an AC card may not work on the 5.0 GHz wireless band unless you have a wireless AC router, not a dual band wireless N router. The parts list for your notebook indicates that it came with a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (1x1) WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 combination WLAN adapter. The specs show Intel 1x1 802.11ac WLAN as you posted, but the Intel Centrino 1000 wireless card is an old single band card, and was never used in your model.
